Rally America, a Minneapolis, Minnesota based corporation, holds the sanctioning and marketing rights to the Rally America Championship. The company was founded in 2002 by rally driver and CPD Rally Team owner Doug Havir.

Daily operations are headed by JB Niday, Rally America’s Managing
Director. JB, like Doug Havir, is an active rally driver. Rally America started off in 2002 by providing the SCCA ProRally Championship with various rally related services and resources, including much improved timing and scoring equipment. At the conclusion of the 2004 rally season, the SCCA made the decision to transfer the commercial and sanctioning rights of the SCCA ProRally Championship entirely into the hands of Rally America.

Rally America then created the Rally America Championship consisting of both regional and national level rallies, most of which were former SCCA events. Additionally, Rally America utilized the current SCCA Performance Rally rule book with some minor changes.

“Not only will we have a full rally calendar in 2005, we will strive toward continuing the growth of the sport from the entry level up through the highest tiers of competition. We are all definitely looking forward the opportunity,” explains Doug Havir.
