Driver // Matt Huuki
Matt grew up watching rallies in Michigan’s U.P. and always dreamed of being a driver himself one day. In 2001, Matt finally had the resources available to purchase and support a car and make his dreams come true.
The first two years, Matt drove as many events as he could, but limits himself to LSPR considering that this event is close to home.
Matt is a regular top finisher in regional rallies having placed 3rd in PGT at Sno*Drift, 4rd in the Open Class at the 2003 LSPR, and a rare PGT 2nd finish at the now defunct Cadillac Forest Rally in lower MI.
Over the course of his driving career, Matt has had some exciting moments. He particularly remembers the Ojibwe Rally where he and Scott Carlborn got caught in some dust from the car ahead of him, missed a corner, and rolled down a cliff landing on the tires.
The two managed to get the car back on the road, pieced the car back together back at service, and finished quite well the following day. It was quite a challenge that Matt is proud to have persevered.
