LAKE SUPERIOR | www.lsprorally.com
Based at the northern tip of Michigan's northern
or "Upper Peninsula," locals will refer to it
as "dah U.P." Lake Superior surrounds the rally
route which is HQ'd in Houghton, Michigan. This is classic
rally that truly tests every element of a rally driver's
talent behind the wheel...
LOCATION | Houghton, Michigan
The Upper Penninsula of Michigan is beautiful in the fall
and features a history rooted in the mining industry that
is evident throughout the area. A college town with Michigan
Technical University, Houghton is filled with rally mad
students and long time fans. There are several great spectator
locations for fans both new and old, who will cheer for
their favorite drivers at the site that was once the last
stop on the Rally America Championship tour.
CONDITIONS | gravel, tarmac, mud, variable weather
The weather is certainly a mixed bag at LSPR. Rain and
snow are strong possibilities but sustained freezing temperatures
are unlikely. The weather will also vary quickly, putting
added pressure on drivers to adapt to changing road surface
conditions. The fall timeframe means amazing color in
the leaves so be sure to bring your camera. |
