RALLY AMERICA DRIVER TRAVIS PASTRANA TO THROW OUT FIRST PITCH AT PORTLAND BEAVERS BASEBALL GAME
Wednesday, April 18, 2007

April 16, 2007 – Rally America’s 2006 national champion and X Games multiple gold medalist, Travis Pastrana, will throw out the first pitch this Thursday before the Portland Beavers take on the Sacramento River Cats at PGE Park in Portland, Ore.
The game is one of several festivities to promote the Oregon Trail Rally, the third event on the Rally America schedule, which takes place April 20-22 in the Portland area.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the Portland Beavers baseball game,” said Travis Pastrana. “It is great to have the ability to showcase Rally America to new fans in the Portland area.”
The game marks the first time that Rally America and the Portland Beavers, the Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, have formed a promotional partnership. Rally America fans and teams will be in attendance at the game, with drivers Travis Pastrana, Andrew Comrie-Picard, Andrew Pinker and Tanner Foust participating in post inning activities throughout the game. In addition, an autograph session with the drivers will be held following the second inning.

The Oregon Trail Rally is one of the series’ most beautiful courses, with the competitors racing through the lush forests of western Oregon. The rally takes place through old growth tree stands and logging roads deep in the Tillamook State Forest. The roads are twisty, with occasional fast sections lined with ditches and trees.
The 2007 Rally America National Championship Series consists of nine exciting events throughout the country in many different weather and road conditions. Courses range from the forest logging roads in Minnesota to the high-altitude Yampa River Valley in Northwest Colorado and the Pacific Northwest forest and coast paths.
Rally America drivers are competing for valuable points in the first five races of the season to qualify for coveted spots in X Games 13 as Rally Car Racing returns to the X Games in Los Angeles this summer.
