The Stages are set for the 2010 Plan B Rally  - Saturday, May  8, 2010

Round 2 of the Rally America Southwest Regional championship / Bilstein Southwest Rally Cup Series and round 3 of the California Rally Series is upon us. Today starts early with competitors hitting the stages for recce and runs all day with stages ending well after the sun goes down.

Plan B is headquartered in Indio, CA which is 120 miles east of Los Angeles. This is a pure Southwest Desert rally folks and temperatures are expected to hit near 100F. The rally includes a variety of roads but one thing is sure, speed is king; there are truly some fast sections of roads here.

Doug Chernis and Craig Macnair are favorites to take an overall win and 1st in Open 4wd in their Subaru WRX STi. Hot on their tail will be Timo Hayosh and Eric Olson in their Toyota Tacoma. Also, look out for George Doganis and Tom Smith in their recently prepped Honda Civic. Don't count out the 2wd Honda, George and Tom are fast and very experienced on these desert roads. George is the favorite in 2wd but Michel Hoche Mong is always a threat in his 85 GTI. It will be an exciting day of rally. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend!

The 2010 Rally Cup Series is sponsored by Bilstein. Several Bilstein of America workers are coming to help out at the event along with Bret Norgaard (an ardant rally supporter and tech wiz at Bilstein). There is a special Bilstein Cup
Class with 7 contenders battling it out for the coveted Bilstein award to be awarded at the end of the season. Up for grabs is over $14,000 in prize money awarded to 7 placements in the class.

Bilstein SWRC has over $400 up for grabs for the 1st and 2nd place competitors in each class.
