Antoine L'Estage wins 100 Acre Wood 2011
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Antoine L'Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard win the 2011 Rally in the 100
Acre Wood! The privateer Rockstar Mitsubihi crew make American rally history by
being the first team besides Ken Block/Alex Gelsomino to win this event in the
last six years since 100AW became part of the Rally America series. The victory
is even sweeter for Antoine as he celebrates his birthday today. Provisionally,
SRT USA crews round out the overall podium, David Higgins/Craig Drew in second
and Dave Mirra/Marshall Clarke in third.
Hanson retains Championship lead
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Travis and Terry Hanson are positioned to maintain their Rally America
Championship lead after 100 Acre Wood. The Hansons were in fourth overall before
the final loop of stages and only need to finish fifth or better to stay ahead
in the points race. By finishing right outside the overall National podium, the
privateer crew also commands the lead for the Super Production championship
before the Rounds 3 and 4 on the West Coast.
L’Estage still on top after SS9
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Overnight leader Antoine L’Estage has extended his lead over SRT USA driver
David Higgins on Saturday’s opening loop of stages by 36.6 seconds. L’Estage won
the first three stages of the day, adding to his four stage wins from Friday.
Subaru driver Dave Mirra continues to drive steadily and hold on to third
overall.
SP driver Travis Hanson has inherited fourth overall and first in class
following Ramana Lagemann’s crash on SS8. Roman Pakos moves up to second in SP
with Lauchlin O’Sullivan very close behind.
In 2WD, Wyatt Knox grew his lead over a quick Chris Greenhouse by over one
minute while Ford’s Dillon Van Way is still in the running for third in class.
Rally delayed by 40 minutes
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Cars are arriving in Viburnum, MO for Service 1 and the rally is delayed by
about 40 minutes. Organizers will shorten Service 2 by 30 minutes in an attempt
to get back on track, putting the rally 10 minutes behind schedule. We'll keep
you posted on developments.
Ramana Lagemann crashes out on SS8
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Ramana Lagemann/Chrissie Beavis have had a big crash on SS8 (Southern Loop S-2).
Crew is OK. Only three cars cleared the stage before Lagemann crashed. The rally
is delayed as the car is recovered. Lagemann and Beavis are currently (1:51pm)
being transited back to Salem. Further details pending.
Keeney gets some help
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
2009 Super Production champions Jimmy and Melissa Keeney plan on charging the
top five in SP after finishing Friday’s stages sixth in class and 19th overall.
The husband and wife team struggled through mechanical issues and limped to the
end of the opening day until getting some help from fellow competitor Carl
Siegler. Siegler retired from the rally with engine failure and gave Jimmy a
differential from his STI to help the Keeneys get back on track. Keeney left
Parc Expose in Salem intent on making up lost ground - he is over three minutes
behind Evan Cline.
Smooth sailing for Wyatt Knox
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Overnight two-wheel drive leader Wyatt Knox expects to coast to a smooth finish
on Day Two of 100 Acre Wood. Knox is happy with his result so far and plans on
running a risk-free rally on Saturday with the possibility of breaking into the
top ten overall.
Knox and Ole Holter, 2010 Super Production champion co-driver, are sitting in
the car together for the very first time but have reported that they clicked
from the very first stage and now have a good rhythm going.
Chris Greenhouse is 23 seconds behind Knox and will be bringing the fight on
today’s stages. Greenhouse doesn’t expect to catch Knox easily but is
maintaining consistently high speeds while being mindful of his regional
championship bid. Ford’s Dillon Van Way will be playing catch up due to losing
time on Friday with ECU issues causing low power in his Fiesta. Van Way will be
working to close the 2 minute gap between himself and Greenhouse but is poised
for a podium finish either way.
The Rally resumes on Day Two in Salem
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
Day Two of 100 Acre Wood resumes in downtown Salem with Parc Expose from 8:45am
to 10:30am. L'Estage/Richard are the First Car Out on SS7 at 11:07am followed by
Higgins/Drew, Mirra/Clarke, Hanson/Hanson, and Lagemann/Beavis. Crews will run
approximately 80 competitive miles over a total of ten stages on Saturday before
arriving back in Salem for the finish at 9:29pm. Here's Saturday's schedule: www.rally-america.com/events/2011/100AW/schedule/
Super Production battle brewing
- Saturday, February 26, 2011
A battle between SP class leader Ramana Lagemann, Travis Hanson, and Lauchlin
O'Sullivan is expected on the long Leg of the 100AW Rally. Lagemann and
co-driver Chrissie Beavis are rapidly adapting to their new STI and lead SP by
less than 20 seconds over Championship leaders Travis and Terry Hanson.
O'Sullivan and his co-driver Scott Putnam were down on power early in the day
and also dealt with diff issues, but feel more confident going into Day Two and
plan to keep pressure on the Hansons. Hanson and O'Sullivan are only 12 seconds
apart after SS6.
Sitting fourth in class is Roman Pakos, who has had a consistent drive so far
despite not having his regular co-driver, Matt Sawicki, in the car with him for
this event. Evan Cline and co-driver Greg Dorman finished the day fifth in SP in
their WRX, which is currently the most underpowered car in the class. Cline is
aiming to finish 100AW in the top ten overall.

going into the overnight halt by 22.4 seconds over Subaru Rally Team USA driver
David Higgins. Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew had some braking issues during
the first loop of stages but got them resolved in service before running the
final stage of the day. Higgins' teammate Dave Mirra and co-driver Marshall
Clarke have held on to third overall after SS2 and go into Day Two with a

roads have dried a bit overnight, but are prepared to deal with soft and muddy
sections on two-pass stages.
