Rally love bug debuts

Move over new-Beetle Herbie, the old love bug is back -- but this time he's a rally car.
Novice driver Wil How debuted his own version of Car 53 on Friday at the Trespasser's Wil Rally in Salem, Mo.
Sporting the familiar love-bug racing stripes, the rally-prepared 1968 Volkswagen Bug was a fan favorite in the contest. This Herbie has been rally prepared for Group 2 with Bilstein suspension, a strong roll cage and an external oil cooler for the engine.
"It's just fun," said How, a computer programmer from Holland Michigan. "It's a safe first car."
How wisely took a conservative approach to his first regional rally, crossing the finish line in 11th place in class.
