Neil O'Laughlin Wins Week 2 Photo Contest

 Neil O’Laughlin from Breckenridge, MN wins week 2 of the DC Shoes/Rally America photo contest with his picture of Janusz Topor and Michal Kaminski at the 2009 Ojibwe Forests Rally.
Neil first discovered rally racing after watching the World Rally Championships 10 years ago on the Speed Channel. “I never saw this kind of racing before,” said Neil, “It was totally different… more authentic and realistic than what you see on closed courses.”
Going through high school and college took most of his time and he didn’t pursue his rally interest until he started playing rally video games. “I played them to death!” laughed Neil. It didn’t take long before he decided he needed to see a race in person.
Living in Minnesota, Neil found the Ojibwe Forests Rally and made the trek to Bemidji where he attended the speedway super special. It was at the very next spectator area where he snapped the week 2 winning photograph.
Every car that went by Neil experimented with angles and zooms, and different shutter speeds before he captured Topor powering through the corner. “I really liked this picture because it was more dramatic than the others I took,” Neil explained, “I was searching for that art picture and happy to get this one.”
Neil advances to the grand prize round and will at least walk away with a DC Shoes t-shirt for winning last week’s contest.
Week 3 of the DC Shoes/Rally America photo contest is ready for your votes at rally-america.com/contests/2009-dc-week-3/. Voting will end on Saturday, January 16th and Week 4 (the last weekly contest!) will begin the following Monday.
You can still get your picture of a past Rally America event in for week 4 by opening an account at rally-america.com/contests/. Creativity and artistry will be considered by the judging panel who will select the best shots based on relevancy and appeal. Rally car action shots, Parc Exposé shots, profile shots… we want to see it all from the fans perspective!
 Fans can enter any past or present Rally America event photographs of rally cars in action, lifestyle shots, or caught-in-the-moment pictures. Creativity and artistry will be considered by the judging panel who will select the best shots based on relevancy and appeal. Rally car action shots, Parc Exposé shots, profile shots… we want to see it all from the fans perspective!
The top 10 rated weekly photos will be sent to a judging panel to advance a winner to the grand prize round for a chance to win DC Shoes auto wear! Rules can be viewed at rally-america.com/contests/rules/ for more information on photo requirements, eligibility, schedules, and contest procedures.
