Current overall Rally America National Championship points leader Tim Rooney will be the favorite in the Super Production class in next weekend’s Southern Ohio Forest Rally, the fourth event of the 2018 season and second edition of the popular rally. Rooney and Anthony Vohs will once again team up in the #47 PMR Motorsports SR009 in search of their third consecutive overall podium and class victory.

SOFR is a home event for Rooney, who hails from nearby Dublin, Ohio. Coming off of a strong 2017 season that saw him take class victories in four rounds, he opened the year with third overall at Sno*Drift and second overall at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. Rooney also holds the honors as the first-ever stage winner at SOFR, having taken the opening Webb Hollow North stage.

He won’t be the only PMR-supported driver on the Super Production entry list, though, as Michael Engle and Ryan Scott will run the PMR-built SR005 with electronic and data support from the team. Previously entered as an Open class entry, Engle will switch to SP after placing ninth overall (third in class) at 100AW in March.
Cameron Steely and Preston Osborn will also return to action after cracking the overall podium at 100AW, scoring third place overall—just under a minute behind Rooney and Vohs. Last season, Steely ranked second to James Robinson in the 2WD championship with one class victory, and made the decision to step up for 2018 with an older-model Subaru while the team builds a brand new Ford Fiesta.

Also among those joining Rooney, Engle, and Steely on the entry list is Mark Williams, who ranks second in the Super Production standings and 12th overall. Williams, who finished third in class and eighth overall at 100AW, will partner with Angela Cosner in his Subaru Impreza for the first time this season. While the SP field is heavy on Subarus, Patrick Brennan (Mitsubishi) and Colin Ravenscroft (Toyota) will add manufacturer diversity to the field.

The 2018 Southern Ohio Forest Rally takes place on May 18-19, 2018 in McArthur and Chillicothe, OH. It will serve as the fourth round of the 2018 Rally America season. More information on the event and series is available at and
