Sno*Drift Summer Rally may have only just wrapped up on Saturday, but the Rally America National Championship still rolls on with three more events before a new champion is crowned. The next of those events kicks off a month from tomorrow, as Rally Wyoming returns to the schedule once again as the seventh of nine rounds in the 2018 championship.

While it’s still early in the sign-up process, a number of front-running teams have already joined the entry list as of Monday morning. They’re led by championship leaders Dave and Mike Brown, who are coming off a runner-up finish at SDSR and just missed the podium by under two minutes at this event last year.

A number of teams that competed at Rally Colorado will also be returning to action in Wyoming. Adam Short, who led in Colorado at the end of the event’s first day, is signed up to return to the Super Production class, while Jeff Hueser and Michael/Angelica Miller will hit the road again in Open Light and Bret Hunter/Melissa Sherowski will compete in Group 2. Of the group, all but Hueser competed in 2017; Miller/Miller were the best in last year’s Wyoming running order, finishing eighth overall.

Two of Rally America’s frequent front-runners will also take to the stages once again in Wyoming as Cameron Steely/Preston Osborn and Charles Surdyke/Colin Vickman are each on the preliminary entry list. Steely/Osborn’s O.D.D. Racing Super Production ride suffered a disappointing early end to the weekend in Colorado with engine issues, but posted an impressive second all at May’s Southern Ohio Forest Rally; Surdyke/Vickman, meanwhile, last raced at SOFR, where they placed 10th overall and fifth in the Open Light class.

Other early entries in Group 2 include Calvin Cooper/Kelsey Stephens in a 1991 BMW 318is and Kurt Yungeberg in a 1967 Volkswagen Fastback. Tracey Gardiner, meanwhile, is the first B-spec entrant to sign up, having returned to the cockpit with a second place finish in class in Colorado. Stay tuned for additional entry announcements from Rally Wyoming in the coming months.
