Perryville Farm & Forest Rally and Lake Superior Performance Rally Results and Winners
The weekend proceeding Halloween saw plenty of rally racing action with the Perryville Farm & Forest Rally in Perryville, Missouri and the 2-day Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR) in Houghton, Michigan as Rally America’s 2012 Central Regional Championship draws to a close.

LSPR RALLY – October 26-27
At the LSPR Rally, longtime competitor Henry Krolikowski from Wyandotte, MI along with his wife/co-driver, Cindy Krolikowski, took first place overall honors at the LSPR – Lac Vieux Desert Regional Rally on Friday, October 26th and second place overall in the LSPR – Ottawa Rally on Saturday, October 27th in their Open Class 2000 Subaru Impreza.
Even though one more Central Regional Championship event remains on the calendar the Krolikowskis have enough points to declare their SIXTH CONSECUTIVE Rally America Central Regional Championship dating back to 2007, which is the longest running Rally America Championship streak to date.
“I couldn’t have done any of this without my wife keeping me on the road,” said Henry Krolikowski, “She handles everything… she really is the secret to our success.”
The Krolikowskis nearly lost LSPR, however, when their car’s engine inexplicably died on the transit back to the finish timing control on Saturday and wouldn’t restart. In the spirit of rally, fellow competitors Jim Scray and Colin Vickman towed the Krolikowskis to the finish where the Krolikowskis pushed their Subaru uphill across the finish line.
“I suspect one of the camshafts exploded,” added Henry Krolikowski, “I don’t know why it was fine at 100mph then failed on a 50mph road into town.”
Notably, 19 year-old Houghton, Michigan native Mason Moyle, who competes regularly in the Rally America National Championship in the hotly contested Super Production Class, won his first (LSPR-Ottawa) regional rally on Saturday, October 27th. It was also his first overall rally event victory in his young and quickly growing rally career.
“To win at home feels great,” added Moyle, “And with LSPR being back on the National Calendar for 2013, I hope to carry over the results from this year and be very fast next year! A big thanks to the team and John (Hall) for everything this weekend.”

PERRYVILLE FARM & FOREST RALLY – October 27
Justin Pritchard from Granville, Ohio and co-driver Ryan Scott from Columbus, Ohio won the 2012 Perryville Farm and Forest Rally held on October 27th in their Open Light Class 2001 Subaru Impreza. The duo led the event from the very start on their way to a 1:17.1 finish over twin brothers Mark and John Huebbe both from St. Peters, Missouri, who are also Rally of the 100 Acre Wood event organizers
“It was a good event. We won every stage,” said Pritchard, “This was the first blind rally I’ve done in nearly a decade. So it was as clean as a blind rally can go. The event has a good route book and all the ‘gotcha’ moments were clearly marked.”
The Perryville Farm & Forest Rally win is Prichard’s second regional win this year since the Sno*Drift Rally in January and the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in February. The team has now completed every rally event they entered since they endured an unfortunate string of DNF’s back in 2007.
Charles Surdyke from Dittmer, Missouri along with Rally of the 100 Acre Wood’s founder, Kim DeMotte from St. Louis, Missouri, as co-driver, took home third place honors when Matthew Conte from Maryland Heights, Missouri checked into a Main Time Control (MTC) control zone late and was accessed a 10-second penalty on the last stage of the day.
The Perryville Farm & Forest Rally win moved Justin Pritchard into second place overall in the 2012 Central Regional Championship. Carl Seigler from Golden Valley, Minnesota fell to third place due to not competing at either Perryville or the LSPR Rally, but Seigler is signed up to contest the final round of the Central Regional Championship – The Nemadji Trails Rall in Duquette, MN on December 8th, where he has entered for a chance to retake second overall.
