Piotr Wiktorczyk and his co-driver Grzegorz Dorman debuted their team White Frog Racing at the 37th Sno*Drift Rally last weekend, the first round of Rally America National Championship Series. The team, based in Arlington Heights, IL, took second place in Super Production (SP) class and eighth place in overall classification, after challenging the slickest roads they have ever encountered.

White Frog Racing started the rally among 53 other teams on Friday afternoon in Lewiston, MI. Wiktorczyk, after four stages, got second place in Super Production, but during the first service break, the team encountered problems with the rear brakes on their 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and was forced to leave the service 16 minutes late and took a 2 minutes and 40 seconds penalty. They quickly got back to work to get a podium finish in Super Production class and finished the day in the same 2nd spot.

Saturday began for Wiktorczyk and Dorman with one goal, to hold their second place in Super Production class and top 9 in overall classification. Conditions on the road and rear brake problems were still the same for the Polish team, but they were able to achieve their goal without any major problems during day two of the rally. Wiktorczyk came in to the finish in Hillman, MI passing another Polish team on the last three stages of the rally to get in to the top eighth overall missing the seventh spot by only 12 seconds.

Piotr Wiktorczyk: “ The roads in rally this year couldn’t be slicker. Some of the stages were simply covered in pure ice and we knew right away that this would be a finishers rally. Having no rear brakes in the car didn’t help either, but we pushed the hardest we dared and still got a great result. Big congrats to every team that finished – these roads were so tough to navigate, and specially to the Hanson team for such a great run in the SP class. We are happy with the result and looking forward to pushing hard at 100 Acre Wood Rally.”

Grzegorz Dorman: “ I don’t think I have ever seen conditions that extreme on the roads that we were racing on. Driving without the studs on the ice like we did this past weekend is definitely a description of the extreme action sport like rally is. It was so slick that I am very happy to be at the finish. This is just the beginning of the season and there is a lot of stage miles ahead of us that we can prove our speed on later this year. Glad we got the first one behind us.”

Piotr Wiktorczyk’s and Grzegorz Dorman’s next event will be 100 Acre Wood Rally based in Salem, MO on February 26th and 27th. White Frog Racing will continue to fight for Super Production title there as well as more points towards XGames 16 spot.

White Frog Racing would like to thank local businessman Jeff Evans for having the team as a guest in his heated garage in Lewiston, MI. Jeff, owner of AMI Industries invited White Frog Racing to his garage for the fourth year in a row.
