Williston, VT (February 23, 2016) – Rally America, the premier sanctioning body for performance rally competition in the United States, has signed a contingency and spec tire deal with Maxxis for 2016-2017.  The program and benefits are described below for competitors in the National 2WD competitors running in the Rally America National Championship.  

National 2WD competitors will be required to comply with the below items to comply with this agreement and to share in the benefit:
1. Purchase a minimum of one (1) set of Maxxis rally tires.
2. Run three Maxxis stickers on the competitor car which will be provided by Rally America personnel at tech inspection.
3. Race on Maxxis tires at each National round of competition.
4. All 2WD competitors will need to register on the Rally America Contingency program website to register.  This site will launch on February 28, 2016.

National 2WD Overall competitors making the podium will share in $1,000.00 purse to be awarded at the podium.

National B-Spec competitors making the podium will share in $500.00 purse to be awarded at the podium.

Rally America will provide a per tire credit for the first 4 Maxxis rally tires purchased by 2WD National Championship competitors in the amount of $50 per tire.  Certain proof of purchase requirements and restrictions of credit use apply.  

Note: An exception or allowance may be made by Rally America personnel in co-ordination with Maxxis regarding compliance.  Should an exception or allowance be applied it will be published as an event bulletin.  Event bulletins will be posted on the Rally America website associated with the appropriate event.

The program will provide a level playing field for National 2WD competitors, for whom the Maxxis Victra R19 will be the new spec tire. Maxxis will continue to offer free shipping to competitors, and winners will have the opportunity to earn monetary prizes within the program administered by Rally America. Competitors in other classes who race on the Maxxis R19 will have opportunities to win products through a contingency program.  Through the Honda team, Maxxis will provide a self-service tire-mounting station to National 2WD teams competing in the Rally America National Championship, and to teams participating in the contingency program in all classes.
