Team ONeil Rally | www.teamoneil.org
The Team O’Neil Rally is the first stop on the Rally America Eastern Regional Championship and the battle begins on the challenging snow and ice covered back roads of Northern New Hampshire.
LOCATION | Dalton, New Hampshire
January in New Hampshire is one of the most beautiful times of the year and a perfect time for rallying. The Team O’Neil Rally is headquartered in Dalton, NH outside of Littleton, NH, which is a classical New England town. The Team O’Neil Rally School and Car Control Center is the primary sponsor of the event and some of the stages actually run through the facility.
CONDITIONS | Snow, Ice, Frozen Gravel
Winter conditions in Northern New England are always changing, but you can expect some combination of snow and glazed ice on the road surface. The temperatures could range anywhere from -20 F to 40 F so be sure to dress appropriate for the conditions. If there has been good snowfall in the week leading up to the rally expect to see large snow banks lining the road. These banks can be a help and a hazard for drivers trying to stay on the road. Weather conditions will make tire selections difficult, but two wheel drive vehicles will be allowed to run DOT studded tires, making the race that much more exciting.
